Volunteer

1. Volunteer with us
Join us in making a difference for families in our community. Volunteers of all ages (6 and up) are welcome — whether you’re an individual, family, or part of a group from a school, business, church, or service organization.
- We offer both in-person and at-home opportunities at our Lake County and McHenry County locations.
- All volunteer sign-ups are managed through our online portal, Golden. You’ll need to create an account to view and register for available shifts.
Online registration is required. We are unable to accept volunteer requests by email or phone.
We accept: diapers, pull-ups, youth & adult incontinence products, and period supplies.

2. Become an Ambassador
Do you care about poverty, have a little time, and have a little space to spare in your home or workplace? Be a voice for families in your community by signing up to be a Keeping Families Covered Ambassador!
- Help secure diapers and period supplies by serving as a drop-off site
- Provide an easy way for people to donate diapers and period supplies while raising awareness about our important work

3. Become a Community Partner
We partner with trusted agencies to distribute diapers and hygiene essentials through programs like home visits, case management, health screenings, and job training. Orders are picked up from our offices and distributed by agency staff.
We work with:
- Shelters & food pantries
- Schools & churches
- Healthcare & senior service agencies
