Make A Monetary Donation

Monetary donations go directly towards purchasing diapers and period supplies for our distribution programs. We have donated millions of diapers and hundreds of thousands of period products to families. We currently purchase 90% of the diapers and 50% of the period supplies we give away, so we rely on financial support to sustain our programs. Monetary donations make it possible for us to continue providing specific sizes and quantities of diapers/period products that we can’t always count on from drives alone. We need ongoing support through donations of diapers, period products and dollars in order to serve the community.

Did you know that your dollars go farther when you donate to us? We can buy diapers at less than half of retail cost thanks to preferred purchasing programs through our membership with the National Diaper Bank Network. The same is true for period products through our membership with the Alliance for Period Supplies. That means that we can buy a higher volume of diapers and period supplies at a lower cost----and your monetary gift is essentially doubled!

Donations do more than just put diapers and period products on a shelf in our warehouse. They make a real and lasting impact in the lives of thousands of families every month by keeping them clean, dry and healthy.

Keeping Families Covered is recognized as a nonprofit charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and all contributions, including financial, are tax deductible under section 170 of the code.

Host a Diaper or Period Supply Drive

Want to make a difference and help families in your community? Consider organizing or hosting a diaper or period supply drive! We’ll provide a toolkit, donation boxes, and marketing materials – then we'll pick up the donations you collect. All you have to do is find a location, promote the event, and collect the goods. It’s that easy!

Give Diapers to a Child in Need

As a member of the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN), our diaper bank and mobile diaper pantry distributes FREE disposable diapers. We give away over 170,000 diapers each month to more than 3,000 children. Through purchases, donations, and community diaper drives, we get diapers into the hands of families that need them. Your support will provide this basic need to a child so they will be clean, dry and healthy.

Become a Community Partner

Keeping Families Covered distributes items through established agencies that work directly with families in need. Those partnerships ensure that diapers and other essentials get into the hands of those who need them, our programs compliment other services (home visits, case management, health screenings, self-sufficiency programs, job training) and providing families with basic needs will help to connect them with other assistance programs in the community.

Partners request items on behalf of the clients they serve and we fill the requests. Case workers and/or agency representatives pick up their orders at our office and then handle the distribution to the families.

We are very intentional with how we grow and who we partner with to distribute our items. Our partners include home visiting programs, shelters, food pantries, townships, churches, schools, healthcare clinics, senior service agencies, foster family programs and community-based organizations. An agency/organization must have a partnership agreement with us in order to request assistance for their clients. Our partnership agreement is collaborative and requires each agency/organization to support the mission, and programs, of Keeping Families Covered, throughout each calendar year.

If your organization is interested in becoming a partner, please contact our office at 224-637-1644 or email us at info@keepingfamiliescovered.org.

Donate a Little Time & Volunteer

Keeping Families Covered is always in need of volunteers to support our efforts to help individuals and families in the community.

Adults and children (ages 6 and up) are welcome! We can host small businesses, corporations, churches, schools, sports teams, service groups, and community organizations. We offer in-person and at-home opportunities at both of our offices (Lake County and McHenry County).

We use Golden to manage our volunteer opportunities. Please note that you will need to create an account on Golden to use our portal, view the opportunities we have available, and sign up online. Click on the "Sign Up to Volunteer" button below to get started!

Registration via the portal is required for anyone that wants to volunteer with us. Due to increased demand, we do not accept email or phone requests for volunteer opportunities.
